What's new at The Organic Farm Shop?
April 2008: We are now in what was traditionally known as the hungry gap, the period of the year when food stocks from last year's harvests are starting to run out, and new growth isn't mature enough to eat. But that doesn't mean we haven't got news.
For a start, watch this space! We've engaged arch web developer and all-round buzz-brain John Allsopp to improve our website. He asked a selection of users of this site what they wanted and one thing that came through clearly was the ability to see what's new, both new products, and also what's coming into season as well as some news from the farm. So .. here's a what's new page.
So, if there's something you really want on the website, just let us know.
New range of organic shampoos, body washes and soaps
Organic shampoos
We know there's a lot of interest in organic skin care, toiletries and cosmetics and we stock quite a large range already, but until now there hasn't been an organic certified shampoo. Well, now there is.
The Bentley Organic range of organic shampoos, soaps and bodywashes are all Soil Association certified. The shampoos smell completely gorgeous and cost just £3.99. There's:
- For normal to oily hair: tea tree, eucalyptus and lemon oils with aloe vera and mint,
- for normal to dry hair: lavender oil and passion flower extract with aloe vera and jojoba,
- for frequent use: orange, grapefruit and lemon oils with chamomile extract and aloe vera, and
- for dry and damaged hair: pomegranate and aloe vera with orange, olive and cinnamon oils
Organic bodywashes and soaps
Not content with that, there are four organic bodywashes and soaps too:
- Deep cleansing bodywash and soap: with olive, tea tree and eucalyptus oils,
- revitalising bodywash and soap: with cinnamon, sweet orange and clove bud oils,
- calming and moisturising bodywash and soap: with lavender, aloe and jojoba oils, and
- detoxifying bodywash and soap: with grapefruit, lemon and seaweed oils
Bentley Organics soaps are £1.98 each and bodywashes £2.98.

On the farm
We have a calf!
Mum is Sherwood. She's 17 years old, which is quite old for a cow. Her mother, Cherie, was the first calf we had. Sherwood's calf was named Sherbert by a young girl neighbour, and she's a Charolais.
