Vitamins and Vitamina!

January can be a difficult month - but we must still keep to our New Year Resolutions. Two of mine are getting fit and eating healthily even though those leftover Christmas chocolates are very tempting and the weather forecast isn't good for the end of the week so it's easy to be a couch potato!
We need to be eating our 5-a-day and one of them should be kale. We mentioned kale in our last blog - it's our January vegetable! Kale is full of vitamins and iron and is often called a 'super food'.
We are so lucky to have lovely locally grown organic kale in the shop - very fresh and no 'air miles' involved! Here are some tasty kale recipes.
See our organic fruit and vegetable price guide for a full list of what's available this week. We will have organic fresh and smoked salmon towards the end of the week.
Enjoy this lovely winter sunshine - we need the vitamin D! Talking of vitamins makes me think of my feline guest Vitamina and my struggle to keep her and our resident cat Maggie apart!

Keep healthy

After all that indulgent food over Christmas and the New Year we now need something healthy and comforting. In the shop at the moment we have locally grown organic kale and cavalo nero. They are so good for us - add them to a warming minestrone soup or cook with tagliatelle, or you could add them raw to a green smoothie.
See our organic fruit and vegetable price guide for a full list of what's available this week. We hope to have organic fresh and smoked salmon but it depends on the Scottish weather. We will have fresh organic beef, pork, bacon and cooked ham.
Have a good week!
