Starting university

It's definitely Autumn - the mornings are now chilly and the leaves on the trees are starting to change colour.
I now have both my sons back home before they move to Hull to start/continue their university studies.
For those about to leave home for the first time to become students it's really important to look after yourself and eat good food, here are some basic but healthy recipes. You will also need to watch your money so here are some healthy but cheap recipes for those on a budget.
In the shop this week we have a range of UK apples, lovely plums, corn on the cob, local romanesco cauliflowers and we're beginning to see the first root vegetables - parsnips and celeriac.
For full details of what's in the shop see our latest organic fruit and vegetable price guide.
We will also have organic fresh and smoked salmon.
Have a good week!

Sunny September

Well we have had some lovely weather for the beginning of September. I drove over the moors yesterday and it was wonderful - stunning views of the Esk valley. It is a lot colder this morning and I am beginning to think about soup recipes. Leek and potato soup is always a favourite and we have some lovely local organic leeks in the shop - I've just put a photo of them on our Facebook page.
For full details of what's in the shop see our latest organic fruit and vegetable price guide.
We will also have fresh organic chicken this week - whole chickens, breast, drumsticks, thighs, burgers and chicken livers.
Have a good week!
