Fairtrade Fortnight

It's Fairtrade fortnight 24 February - 9 March.
Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world.
Today the Fairtrade Foundation has started a campaign to make 'Bananas Fair'. Britain's supermarket price wars are trapping tens of thousands of banana farmers and workers in an unrelenting cycle of poverty.
All our bananas in The Organic Farmshop are Fairtrade. We also have a wide range of Fairtrade products in the shop - come and see for yourself or visit our Facebook page for photos.
For our full range of produce in the shop this week see our latest organic fruit and vegetable price guide. We will have fresh organic beef, pork and whole chickens later this week.
Have a good week!

Organic food got some good publicity yesterday - there was an article in the Observer newspaper entitled Organic food back in vogue as sales increase.
Bob Sexton, chief executive of certification at the Soil Association said "Early indications show positive growth in the organic market in 2013, after around four years of decline – showing a strong appetite among consumers for the environmental, animal welfare and health benefits of organic produce .."
Have a good week!
