We have a lovely pumpkin pie recipe which will be available in the shop or we can email it to you.
We also have fresh organic cranberries on offer - cranberry sauce is very easy to make and can be frozen and kept for Christmas.
One job out of the way before starting on the Christmas cake, puddings etc! Here is a lovely cranberry sauce recipe - we have printed copies in the shop.

Pickering Wartime & 1940's weekend

It's that time of year again - on 11 - 13 October Pickering is holding its Wartime and 1940's weekend.
In the shop we will be getting into the spirit of this period. We've found a number of wartime recipes taken from Health for all Wartime Recipes.
Why not try making Woolton Pie - a dish of vegetables, created at the Savoy Hotel in London by its then Maitre Chef de Cuisine. It was one of a number of recipes commended to the British public by the Ministry of Food during the Second World War to enable a nutritional diet to be maintained despite shortages and rationing of many types of food, especially meat. It was named after Lord Woolton, who became Minister of Food in 1940.
To see what's available in the shop - see our latest organic fruit and vegetable price guide. We have organic fresh and smoked salmon this week and Paul's Bakery sourdough rye bread.
Have a lovely week and if you do cook a wartime dish do let us know!
