August bank holiday and baby hedgehogs!

The sun is shining and it's a bank holiday! Hope you are all enjoying the end of the holidays. Last week I managed a few days away to join my extended family in Mallorca. We stayed in a wonderful villa with swimming pool in a remote area in the middle of the island. We enjoyed the organic eggs, lemons, figs, apples and plums brought to us daily by the owners of our finca! I would really recommend it for a large family or 2/3 families. Details on Finca S'Almudaina's own website or on Owners' Direct website.
We are still seeing some of the lovely Mediterranean fruits in the shop - melons, apples, plums.
For a full list of fresh produce see our latest fruit and vegetable price guide.. We also have organic fresh and organic salmon this week.
A really sweet story to finish with - last week the shop was asked to donate goat's milk to feed 3 baby hedgehogs that had been found in Farndale by a resident. At the moment they weigh 300g and as soon as they weigh 500g they can be released back into the countryside.
Have a lovely week!

Annual Perseids meteor shower

A lot of people are still in holiday mode and the weather forecast is ok but with a little bit of rain which our gardens need.
We have lots of lovely local salad produce in the shop this week. If you are thinking of a picnic we have organic ham for sandwiches and mushroom and black olive pate. For dessert we have delicious organic apricots.
We also have organic chicken and chicken pieces towards the end of the week.

Have a lovely weekend! By the way did anyone see the Perseids meteor shower last night?
